When Buckingham Palace announced a Royal wedding would soon take place between Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle, people around the world rejoiced. However, one group in particular is celebrating the most; African American women! The soon to be Royal Highness, Dutches Meghan happens to be an African American lady. Social media is blowing up with other black ladies excited about the development with hashtags #blackgirlmagic and #blackprincess.
Fun fact: Meghan Markle is not the ONLY black lady to serve as British Royalty. In the late 1700s Queen Charlotte after whom Charlotte, North Carolina is named, was also reportedly of partial African descent. If you think about it, that makes Price Harry a black man too..sort of.
