“The way that we do adoptions at JHS is also a little different than what you might normally think of when you think of an animal shelter. We practice something called Open Adoption. We don’t do a background check on you. You can come to JHS and the only thing you have to do to adopt a pet is meet with one of pour adoption councilors.” – Samantha Ahnen, Community Engagement Manager
