Federal health officials are recalling nearly 90,000 bottles of children’s ibuprofen across the country.

Strides Pharma Incorporated initiated the massive recall. The company received complaints of a “gel-like mass and black particles” found inside the liquid medicine.

The Food and Drug Administration issued a Class Two recall. The agency cited a risk of “temporary or medically reversible health problems.”

The affected product is the four-ounce bottle of Children’s Ibuprofen Oral Suspension. Companies distributed this exact medicine nationwide.

Officials urge parents to check their medicine cabinets for lot numbers 7261973A and 7261974A. The recalled bottles carry an expiration date of January 31, 2027.

Health experts advise consumers to stop using the recalled ibuprofen immediately. The FDA reports no serious adverse health effects at this time.
